I am currently taking calculus, and before meeting with Volak I was averaging 60’s on quizzes and low 70’s on tests. Volak makes topics incredibly easy, and I go from completely lost to almost mastering the material in one or two lessons. After meeting with Volak for a couple weeks, my grades shot up. On my last test I got a 101%, and the most recent quiz I got a 97%, with little studying apart from tutoring prior to the exams. Volak has great energy and really knows the subjects he teaches. My daughter was struggling with Calculus AB in 10th grade. She has been a straight A math student and it is her favorite class but she was having a hard time getting above a B in Calculus. We tried a few different tutors and she really like Volak. I thought, “Maybe I’m not smart enough for this class.” But then I realized something: it wasn’t the math itself tripping me up—it was how it was taught. So, I scrapped the lectures that didn’t click and started teaching myself, stripping everything down to simple, clear ideas I could actually grasp. I wasn’t chasing rote memorization—I wanted to understand. And it paid off. By the end of the semester, I walked away with a 98 on the comprehensive final exam—the highest in the class. Turns out, I wasn’t the problem; I just needed a better way in.
